Projects

Malakwa, BC

Mustang Powder wanted to try something a little different than what we had done for Baldface and the second version of our defroster style cabins was born! This version has both doors on the drivers side of the machine and uses a retractable staircase. With as many windows and as much storage space as possible, these cabins are separated from the frames on isolators to improve ride and reduce vibration related noise. The cabin is fully sealed and insulated making for a very comfortable ride with defrosted windows allowing great views! Additional cabin lights and USB charging features add to the guests comforts and the cabin provides plenty of space to dry out between powder runs.

Rossland, BC

We supplied some replacement chairs to Red Resort for the Paradise lift. Unfortunately they are no longer available from the manufacturer so we worked from some original drawings and a sample to recreate the chairs. After inspections and NDT they are now in service.

Baldface approached Mofab many moons ago to collaborate and design a passenger cabin system for their cat skiing operation outside of Nelson, BC. These cabins are built soundly around winch cat framework and fittings to ensure passenger safety is number 1. In addition we created a defroster system to reduce vertigo and thaw out goggles and equipment. Add in plenty of storage, hydration equipment and some great speakers and you get a legendary Baldface experience!

Red asked us to assist with the metalwork associated with relocating a chair to their resort. Mofab assisted with base station construction, some tower modifications and the supply of aluminum flooring for the drive station.

After over 15 years of service these cabins(built by others) were brought in for restoration. We found some extremely worn out and damaged frame work and had to replace most of the floor structure while reinforcing the framework to be safer moving forward. After replacing the damaged staircases, adding jumpseats, improving the lift points and doing all the general metal repairs these units are ready for another service life in the snow taking skiers out for great experiences!
